Mark Twain, the beloved American author, once said, “The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don’t want, drink what you don’t like, and do what you’d rather not.” Now, while that may have been sound advice in his time, it certainly doesn’t apply to the characters in the 1983 comedy film “The Survivors.”
Starring Robin Williams and Walter Matthau, this film tells the story of two everyday guys who find themselves caught up in a dangerous situation they never saw coming. The film was directed by Michael Ritchie and written by Michael Leeson.
The plot of “The Survivors” revolves around two men named Donald Quinelle (Williams) and Sonny Paluso (Matthau). After losing their jobs on the same day, they decide to go on a camping trip together to clear their heads. However, things take a turn for the worse when they witness a murder and find themselves being pursued by the killer.
